RX-Safety

Project overview

Rx-Safety is a family-owned optical lab and online store in Middlesex, New Jersey. The family has made eyeglass lenses since founding Phillips Lens Company in 1920, and the business took the Rx-Safety name in 2007. We built the prescription safety glasses ecommerce site for the Rx-Safety website and manage its Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, SEO and social media.

Selling prescription eyewear online is harder than most stores. Every order needs a frame, a lens type, a prescription, pupil distance and a lens material. Customers also need to trust the safety ratings. Therefore, the store had to guide people through a medical style order without losing them.

Prescription safety glasses ecommerce for workers, athletes and employers

The audience is wide. Plant workers need ANSI Z87+ frames, shooters and pickleball players want sport eyewear, and safety managers buy for whole teams. In addition, Rx-Safety offers a partnered optician program and an affiliate program, so each group needs its own path.

The design is clean and retail focused. A black top bar, white product pages and orange Select Lenses buttons keep attention on the frames. Plus, rating badges such as High RX, ANSI Z87+, CSA Z94.3 and EN166 sit right on the product photos.

A store that walks buyers through every lens choice

We built the WooCommerce store around the order flow an optician would use in person. Here is what it includes:

  • Step by step lens builder. Shoppers pick a lens type, from single vision to lined bifocal or progressive, then enter or upload their prescription, PD and segment height, and choose a lens material.
  • Virtual Try-On and 3D viewer. Product pages let shoppers see frames on their own face or spin them in 3D before buying.
  • Category filters. Collections filter by prescription, material, color, shape, size, safety rating, features and brand.
  • Deep catalog navigation. Mega menus cover safety glasses, sports eyewear, sunglasses, eyeglasses, lens replacement and safety products like gloves and hard hats.
  • Corporate program. Companies get six free sample frames, and the RX-VIP portal lets employees place and track orders.
  • Customer reviews. Star ratings appear on product cards, and the homepage shows the latest reviews.

Marketing that feeds the store

So the store does not sit and wait, our Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising campaigns send shoppers to matching product and category pages. Likewise, buying guides on sizing, OSHA approved frames and transition lenses support SEO, and the product catalog connects to Meta for social campaigns.

Platform and day to day upkeep

The store runs on WordPress and WooCommerce with a custom Cosmick theme built on Bootstrap, hosted on Kinsta behind Cloudflare. Payments run through Authorize.Net, Klaviyo handles email, and LiveChat lets the team answer fitting questions in real time.
