Project overview

HALSTED has supplied packaging to distributors since 1876, and the company marks 150 years in 2026. It is headquartered in Cranbury, New Jersey, with warehouses in Lodi, California and Savannah, Georgia, plus an office in Nagpur, India. We handled the packaging supplier website design and development for the Halsted Bag Company website, and helped shape how the brand talks to its buyers.

Halsted sells to distributors, not end users. Those buyers want specs, stock levels and a fast way to ask for pricing. They also want to know Halsted can source, inspect, ship and store product for them. So the site had to work like a catalog and a sales pitch at the same time.

Project write-up

Halsted sells to distributors, not end users. Those buyers want specs, stock levels and a fast way to ask for pricing. They also want to know Halsted can source, inspect, ship and store product for them. So the site had to work like a catalog and a sales pitch at the same time.

Packaging supplier website design for distributor buyers

For instance, a distributor looking for bulk bags usually knows the size they need before they ever land on the site. They want to filter, compare and request a quote without calling first. At the same time, a new prospect needs a reason to switch suppliers.

The design keeps things clean and industrial. Deep blue and white carry the Halsted wordmark across the header and page banners, and a bold italic “H” mark repeats on product cards and section heroes. In addition, warehouse photos of stacked bulk bags show the scale of the operation better than any claim could.

A product catalog and solutions site built around the sale

We organized the site around what Halsted sells and what it does for distributors after the order. Here is what it includes:

  • Twelve product lines. Bulk bags (FIBCs), sandbags, leno mesh, woven polypropylene, BOPP, paper laminated, reusable shopping bags, cap sacks, concrete washout bags, container liners, dunnage bags and specialty fabrics each have their own section.
  • Filterable product pages. Product categories include a search box and size filters with counts, so a buyer can narrow dozens of bulk bag sizes in a couple of clicks.
  • Five solution pages. Sourcing, design, quality assurance, logistics and warehousing explain the end-to-end service, including the nearly 150,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in Cranbury.
  • Stock inventory guide. A downloadable inventory PDF sits in the main navigation, so distributors can check what is ready to ship.
  • Quote and distributor forms. Dedicated Get a Quote and Become a Distributor pages capture leads, and a short contact form sits at the bottom of key pages.

News and company story

Likewise, a news section covers supply chain updates, storm season products and the 150 year anniversary. The Who We Are pages add the company story, the team and all four locations.

Built for a sales team that updates often

The site runs on a custom WordPress theme built with Bootstrap, with Cloudflare in front for speed and security. As a result, Halsted can post news, swap the inventory guide and add products without a developer.
