Project overview

Burkholder’s Heating & Air Conditioning has kept Lehigh Valley homes and businesses comfortable since 1960. The family-owned company is based in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, offers 24/7 emergency service and is now led by Bob, the son of founder Carl. We handled the HVAC company website design and development for the Burkholder’s HVAC website.

Burkholder’s serves two very different customers. Homeowners need a furnace fixed tonight or a quote on a new air conditioner. Facility managers need chillers, process piping, clean room HVAC and building automation. Both groups want a company with a long track record and fair pricing. Therefore the site had to split residential and commercial work cleanly while keeping the emergency number in plain sight.

HVAC company website design for homes and commercial buildings

On the residential side, the questions are simple: can you come today, what will it cost and do you offer financing. Commercial buyers dig deeper. They look for system types, maintenance agreements and safety standards before they ever call. So each side needed its own menu, its own project gallery and its own path to service.

The brand made the design direction easy. Burkholder’s blue and orange already appear on the service vans, so we carried them onto the site with orange page titles, blue subheads and a sweeping orange wave under every banner photo. In addition, photos of the technicians, the fleet and the full team appear in the page banners.

Two service menus, one emergency number

We split the site at the top level and kept the urgent actions in the header on every page. Here is what it includes:

  • Residential mega menu. Heating and air conditioning repair, installation and maintenance pages sit beside home generators, indoor air quality, zoning, oil burners and the residential maintenance agreement.
  • Commercial service library. Fifteen commercial pages cover ductwork design, process piping, chillers, VRV systems, clean room HVAC, roof top units, building automation and more.
  • Request Service form. A Gravity Forms request collects the service needed, whether the customer has a contract and how they heard about Burkholder’s, and the page explains how to reach the live dispatcher after hours.
  • Pay Online. Customers can pay invoices through a Stripe-powered payment page linked in the header.
  • Offers and financing. Financing through the National Energy Improvement Fund, a fair pricing promise and residential rebates each have their own page.
  • Google reviews feed. The homepage shows a 4.7 rating across 1,247 Google reviews when we checked, with the owner’s replies included.

Ready for the busy seasons

The site runs on WordPress with Elementor Pro and an OceanWP child theme, hosted on WP Engine with Cloudflare in front. As a result, Burkholder’s staff can post news and events, add work to the residential and commercial project galleries and update offers as the seasons change.
