Project overview

Anatomical Justice is a medical-legal illustration and trial graphics studio in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Founded by Certified Medical Illustrator Ronald Mathias, the team creates illustrations, animations and exhibits for litigators, healthcare providers and publishers nationwide. We handled the medical illustration website design and development for the Anatomical Justice website, along with a marketing plan to match.

The studio sells two ways. Attorneys can license ready made stock illustrations right away, or they can commission custom work for one specific case. Therefore, the site had to work as a searchable store and as a lead source for custom projects at the same time.

Medical illustration website design for attorneys on a deadline

Most buyers are trial lawyers, paralegals and expert witnesses. They know the injury they need to show, but not always the medical term for it. So search had to work by body region and by plain language, not just by product name.

Accuracy had to show in the design too. Hand drawn anatomical sketches in warm gray tones sit behind the page headers. Likewise, the gold seal in the logo, with Themis, Asclepius and Athena, gives the studio a fitting mix of medicine and law.

Medical illustration store and custom case tools

The site pairs a WooCommerce catalog with everything an attorney needs to know before ordering. Here is what it includes:

  • Search by anatomical region. Visitors filter the catalog by product category and by 22 anatomical regions, from Ankle and Foot to Wrist and Hand, or search by keyword.
  • Medical Glossary. More than 3,000 medical terms, each with a plain definition and a link to matching products.
  • Stock illustration store. Ready to license exhibits sell through WooCommerce with Authorize.Net checkout and customer accounts.
  • Free quote request. A Gravity Forms quote form on the homepage collects the firm name, contact details and how the visitor found the studio.
  • How to Order and Pricing. The ordering steps, from first contact to quote preparation, are laid out so new clients know what to expect.
  • Animation and creative work. 2D and 3D animations, comic book illustration and storyboards each have their own category, with video hosted on Vimeo.

Built to sell and to start conversations

The site runs on WordPress with WooCommerce and sits behind Cloudflare. As a result, the Anatomical Justice team can add new stock illustrations, update glossary terms and post articles to The Bone Zone blog on their own.
