Project overview

Newcomer Eye Associates (Brodsky Eye) provides eye exams, contact lenses and eye disease care in Whitehall, Bethlehem and Allentown, PA.

Cosmick Media designed a patient-first website with online appointment booking, service information and a Spanish-language section. The practice has since moved to another website provider.

Project write-up

Newcomer Eye Associates, also known as Brodsky Eye, is an eye care practice serving patients in Whitehall, Bethlehem and Allentown, Pennsylvania. The team offers comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings and care for eye diseases, so its eye care website design had to serve a wide range of patients.

We designed a website for the practice that put patients first. This page shows the site as we delivered it. The practice has since moved to another provider, so the live site looks different today.

Goals for the eye care website design

Patients visiting an eye doctor’s site usually want one of three things. They want to book an exam, check whether the office takes their insurance, or learn about a service. So we built the site around those tasks.

What we built

  • A clear “Book Appointment” button and phone number at the top of every page
  • An alert bar for urgent notices, such as reminding patients to call for medical emergencies instead of booking online
  • Menus for the practice’s location, services, eye care topics, insurance and contact lenses
  • A Spanish-language section for Spanish-speaking patients

In addition, the design used a calm navy and white palette with friendly photos, so the site felt welcoming rather than clinical.

Accessible and easy to use

Many eye care patients have vision challenges, so accessibility mattered. We leaned on core web accessibility principles: large, readable type, strong contrast and simple navigation. As a result, patients could find hours, services and booking without zooming or hunting.

An eye care website design patients could use

The practice got an eye care website that made booking simple and answered common questions before patients called. Front desk staff spent less time explaining hours, insurance and directions by phone. And because every page followed the same layout, new services and doctors could be added without a redesign.
